GF has put together a list of denim fashion predictions for 2008 (or 2000 and great, if you will) to make you the envy of all your friends when you rock up to parties looking like you’ve raided Kate Moss’s closet!

Denim taking you higher- Despite predictions that the retro-inspired high-waisted jeans would never come back, or if they did they would never catch-on the high-waist looks like it’s here to stay for another fashion year. They might not be for everyone, but love them or hate them there is no denying that the high-waist is back in a big way.

Skinny-minny- If you thought it might be time to ditch your skinny jeans, don’t! An obvious favourite in recent years skinny-leg jeans don’t seem to be going anywhere soon, so hang on to your pair or even grab a new pair!

Grungy denim- For the less clean-cut amongst us 2008 could be your year. The revival of grungy denim with a punk edge can be the ultimate staple item in your wardrobe to rough up your look and give you a bit of edge. Look out for distressed denim, acid washes or denim that looks like its been attacked by bleach.

Wide-leg jeans- If the skinny jeans have haunted you for the past two years, you are now in luck. The wide-leg jean is making a chic comeback. Teamed with a pair of ballet flats or with a heavy heel the wide-leg jeans can offer something a little different from the jeans we are so used to seeing. If you’re feeling ultra-bold why not try a pair of high-waisted wide- leg denims!
