Your Say: Drinking Laws

A new report has stated that teens who drink are more likely to have alcohol problems later in life, leading many to call for a ban on all underage drinking and a possible rise in the legal drinking age from 18 to 21 years old.

We want to know what you think about the issue! Is binge drinking/alcohol abuse a big prob amongst teens? Do you think the law should be changed? How would you feel if the drinking age was changed from 18 to 21, like they have in the US?

yes!!!(even though i never drink coz im under age) People die in accidents, have unprotected sex when drunk and its just dangerous!!!!!!

I think that we should have tougher laws when buying alcohol.

well actually, i think it's not a bad idea
But they will not be able to stop it one way or another, and like it's kinda silly, cause let's just say an 18 year old goes to a club and all he can have is coke, and not everyone is stupid enough to drink so much to be that stupid to have unprotected sex.

Raising the drinking age could be beneficial but teens would most probably find and abuse alcohol whether the laws are there or not.

No, i think that changing the laws to 21 here would just want teens want it more, and if they change the laws, who is going to have any fun at schoolies? I dont drink myself, but my older brother has a few mates over and has a couple of beers and there is no problem and he is only 17!

no i dont think the drinking laws should be put up to age21 because it only mean the young ones are going to frige more and drink underage still wether yu chage the law!!!

Realisistically. There is no point; raising the age limit is just going to result in more under age drinking! At 16 you are plenty old enough and responsible enough to take care of yourself. Teenagers will become rebellious against the new lae, if it changes. -Monique x

NO NO NO!!! PLEASE DON'T! The reasont that people drink so much once they of age is because they love doing somethign different that they couldn't do before and so people are going to out of their way to illegally get alcohol and get really drunk alot as soon as they're 21 which will make it worse.
