The Lads

Around here, people call good-looking boys 'lads'.

For instance, a fit blonde surfer-type guy walks past flashing a winning smile.
Girl, (let's call her Emily), says, "Wow he's a lad."

thats not what it means, they are another social "group", do specific things dress specifically like how some people "act gangster" prep, punk or whatever, theyre usually wearing striped polos, tn's dry fits and canterburys or nike trackies.

also heaps of my friends are lads, alot of people rekon theyre bad boys and all they do is cause havik but theyre sick kids. i

There like a social group that wear certain clothes and stuff . They're not really bad though , theres some that are but theres alot of them around Penrith. The wear canterbury shorts , striped shirts, nike fit hats sometimes & Nike TN's or Shox or Air max

just come to penrith and you'll see them absolutly everywhere haha. lads wear polo shirts, canterburys and expensive shoes...or rabens. lasses are just a girl version. they think they're all hardcore, some of them are alright but some really arent. they swear like every 2nd word is F*** its funny

As comments above say... there a group of teenagers who wear Nike Tn shoes, canterbury shorts/pants with a white stripey t shirt tucked in to that,, and often they were natuica hats.
In penrith we are having an epidmeic of them. They graffiti everywhere with there "FTA" tag..aka Full Time Adlays.

I live in Campbelltown & i don't think a day goes by that i don't see a lad. As the comments above say, they pretty much just where nike tns, stripey shirts, canterbury shorts & drifit hats. Lads are just another stereotype like emos or hippies. One of my best friends is a lad & i love him to death.

lads are 12-17 yr olds who think theyre awesome. they wear nautica shirts, canturbury trackies, nike TNs and adidas caps. they are wannabe street gangstas, aka tryhards. activities include petty shoplifiting, carrying pocket knives, and saying "eshays" after every sentence. similar to bogans.
