Where: Channel 10 Studios, Sydney
Who: Deputy Ed Demeter
When: Monday, September 21

To say I am obsessed with Glee at the moment is an understatement. I spent most of my weekend sitting around with friends watching the two episodes I’d taped over and over and laughing until I cried. The friends that didn’t watch it with me had to endure listening to me spout random (but hilarious) lines from the series. Clearly, judging by their reactions, my delivery isn’t as sharp as Jane Lynch…
It’s one of the funniest and most unique shows I’ve seen in a really long time – it’s a big call, but I’m going to go even further and say, possibly EVER! So, needless to say, when I found out I was going to be interviewing the cast while they were in Sydney, I was ecstatic.
I arrived at the Channel 10 studios for my interviews with all eight of the young cast members (Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz) and was greeted by the publicist who told me, “It’s like speed dating with the Glee cast.”She wasn’t wrong – over the next two hours, I was shuffled from section to section of an unused studio, interviewing each cast member. By the end of it, I was dizzy and exhausted, asking myself questions like, “Where am I? What’s going on?” (On my way out, I took a wrong turn and almost stumbled upon the Channel 10 news desk – that’s how disoriented I was.)
Still, the kids were all really nice and just as funny and real as they are on the show. Some of them even admitted to me that they too were feeling a little delirious after a full day of back to back interviews!Anyway, the interviews went really well, the cast lived up to all of my expectations, and I am now in rehab for my addiction to the show.
