I'm having a crisis. Yes, another one. It's about my hair... again.

It happens every winter. I see mop after celebrity mop of brown hair, and I watch as former blondes ditch bleach for caramel hues, and then I get hungry from all the talk of caramels and chocolates and honey. And then it begins. I speak to one bestie who goes mental for the idea, then another who looks visibly reviled. I take it to the masses (my extended group) and get so many different responses (Eek! Yay! Wow! Urgh! Blergh!) that my head almost implodes, and then I get so confused I do nothing. And another year passes and I'm still blonde.

Last time I spoke to my colourist, Nastassja, about my brunette fetish, and she was, um, not impressed. In fact I think her words were "No way". Direct and to the point. The reasoning? "You're just going to want to go blonde again in a month." (She's probably right.) But then she warned "and then your hair will be so damaged that we'll have to cut it all off". Straight to the heart she goes. Because Nastassja knows that short is the one thing I won't do.

But then, last week as I was getting the same set of blonde highlights that I always get.... the convo turned to brown again. Expecting an eye roll and possibly a groan from Nastassja, I almost fell off my swivel chair when she said, "You should just do it. Get it out of your system".

So there you have it. I even have my hairdresser's approval. So what's stopping me from dying my blonde locks brown? Well, this small little problem I have called being a MASSIVE CHICKEN. Wimpy McWimp town. I make Piglet look like Evil Knievel. I think KFC is less chicken than me.

For the last year I've hidden behind my colourist's wise words, using that as the reason why I'm still blonde... but now even SHE is excited. So what do I do? Like all major life decisions, I'm turning to my friends for their solid advice. But not the ones who confused me in the first place... this time I'm asking you guys. In the three years I've been at GF you've offered your opinions about my pages every month (thank you, thank you!) and I've listened to every word you say. And who better to trust than people who are as mad for beauty as me?

So my dear readers, I'm asking for your advice. Should I dip my head in the chocolate pool? Or stay true to my blonde roots? Give me your votes and advice online, and I swear on my pink lipstick I'll do as the majority decides. The fate of my follicles is in your hands!
